چکیده

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an experimental bioactive enamel resin sealer in protecting adjacent orthodontic brackets against erosion. Methods: Orthodontic (n = 50) were bonded freshly extracted, sound maxillary premolars using Transbond™ XT Primer (3M Unitek, Monrovia, CA, USA) and Transbond Plus Color Change adhesive USA). Five groups 10) had following treatments applied: a with 45S5 bioglass, 35% by weight; without glass; fluoride; sealer, Opal Seal (Opal-Orthodontics, South Jordan, UT, USA); and, control group, untreated surface. All specimens stored for 18 min 1% citric acid. examined SEM electron dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used compare surfaces covered sealers before after acid challenge. Attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared detected degree resins’ conversion verify their suitability clinical use. Results: percentage groups’ protection erosion 100%, which significantly more than other groups, p < 0.05. unfilled resins 42.4% ± 3.6% 48.57% 5%, respectively. Conclusion: both protected from

A resin veneer for enamel protection during orthodontic treatment.

The aims of this study were to test the tensile bond strength of a recently developed veneer. Sound premolar teeth (120) extracted for orthodontic purposes were divided into two experimental and two control groups. In one experimental group (V1) 4-META/MMA-TBB resin (4META) was used on the surface veneer prepared with micro particle filled resin (MFR) as an adhesive for bracketing and in the se...

Enamel reduction procedures in orthodontic treatment.

Various combinations of enamel reduction procedures can be used to create space between teeth, to correct discrepancies between mandibular and maxillary teeth and to correct morphologic anomalies during orthodontic treatment. In particular, acid-enhanced interproximal enamel reduction significantly reduces surface roughness. This article presents a review of the literature on enamel reduction p...

Effect of Argon Laser on Enamel Demineralization around Orthodontic Brackets: An In Vitro Study

OBJECTIVE This study was designed to evaluate the effect of argon laser irradiation on development and progress of enamel demineralization around orthodontic brackets. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifty caries-free, intact human premolars were randomly assigned to one of the following five equal groups: Groups 1 (control) and 2: The brackets were bonded using conventional halogen light for 40s and a...

Application of direct laminate veneer for enamel protection during orthodontic treatment: an in vivo evaluation.

The aims of this study were to examine the enamel protective effect of a direct laminate veneer against acidic conditions, measure the amount of fluoride released from the veneer and which was taken up by the enamel, as well as evaluate the usefulness of the veneer for orthodontic treatment. First, a veneer was applied to rabbit incisors. Then, apart from using profile measurement microscope an...
